We watched in horror
as innocent people lost their lives
We as Americans have cried
We have asked why
We have prayed
We are angry
We are frightened
But most important
we have come together
as a nation and said
NO MORE
It is time for us to grieve
hold our families
close
and pull together as a nation
and do what needs to be done
so we can live as people of the United States
in freedom. . . not terror
I would also like to ask
that we pray
for the rescuers
both firefighters and police officers
that have also died
in the process of doing what Americans do....
reaching out to help those in need
My prayers will be
for all the military
as they go forward
as they are called to protect our land
